Terms
The agreement, in plain words.
One payment, no subscription, and your records stay yours. This page is the full version of that, including the parts that limit what we promise.
Agreeing to these terms
By downloading or using As U Wish, you are agreeing to what is on this page. If there is something here you are not willing to agree to, please do not use the app — and if you have already paid for Premium, write to us and we will point you to the right place to ask for a refund.
What As U Wish is, and what it is not
As U Wish is a tool for making a record: what you own, who you would like to have each thing, and why it mattered. It then prints that record as a personal property memorandum you can take to an attorney and attach to your will.
It is not a law firm, not an attorney, and not a substitute for either. It does not give legal advice, and using it creates no attorney-client relationship with anyone. The Legal Disclaimer sets out the limits in full, and it is the most important page on this website.
Your one-time purchase
The app is free to download and free to try. Premium is a single payment — not a subscription. There is nothing to cancel, no renewal date, and no second invoice. We have no interest in charging you monthly for keeping a list of your own possessions.
Your purchase is held against the store account you bought it with, not against the handset, so you can reinstall the app on a new device and restore what you paid for. The two stores are separate businesses, though, and neither can see a purchase made in the other: buying Premium on an iPhone does not unlock it on an Android phone.
Refunds
Purchases are made through the Apple App Store or Google Play, so refunds are handled by them, under their own policies and their own time limits, rather than by us. If something has gone wrong, write to us anyway — we would rather hear about it than not.
What you may do with the app
You have a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use As U Wish for your own household and your own family's belongings, for as long as these terms are respected.
You may not copy or resell the app, take it apart to work out how it is built, or use it to run a service for other people — cataloging estates or households for paying clients, for instance — without our written permission.
If you look after other people's households for a living — as an estate planner, a downsizing service or a senior-move manager — we would genuinely like to hear from you. Write to asuwishcustomerservice@gmail.com and we will sort out permission properly rather than leave you guessing.
Your content belongs to you
Every photograph, recording, item and note you put into As U Wish is yours. We claim no ownership of it and take no license over it. Because it stays on your device, we have no ability to use it in any case.
You are responsible for what you record: that the descriptions are accurate, that you have the right to photograph and record what you are photographing and recording, and that the people you name are the people you mean.
Sharing an Up for Grabs link
You decide when a link is created and who receives it. Anyone holding the link can view what you included, and we cannot control what they do with it afterwards — including passing it on. Close the link when it has served its purpose.
Things you agree not to do
- Use the app for anything unlawful, or to record anyone in a way that is unlawful where you are.
- Add content you do not have the right to add.
- Interfere with the app or with the servers that deliver Up for Grabs links.
- Present a document produced by the app as certified, notarized, witnessed or officially registered when it is none of those things.
The app is provided as it is
We build carefully and we test, but no app is faultless. As U Wish is provided as it is and as available, without warranties of any kind, whether stated or implied — including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not promise the app will be uninterrupted or free of error, that a transcript will be accurate, or that a printed document will satisfy the law where you live.
Keep your own copies. Print your memorandum. Export your reports. The paper in your filing cabinet is the part nothing can take away from you.
Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, As U Wish and the people behind it are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, nor for lost data, lost records, or belongings that were distributed differently from the way you hoped.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you actually paid for the app.
Some places do not allow limits of this kind. If you live in one of them, these limits apply only as far as that place permits, and no further.
If the app changes, or stops
Features may be added, altered or withdrawn. We may one day stop offering the app altogether. If that day comes, your records remain on your device and your printed documents remain exactly as valid as they were, which is a large part of why this app prints at all.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from them will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, and both you and we agree to that.
If you live somewhere whose consumer protection laws give you rights that cannot be signed away, you keep those rights regardless of this paragraph.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the date at the top of the page changes with them. Continuing to use the app after a change means accepting the new version.
